Why do some companies offer free software?
Well, they only offer free software if you mean "free" like a puppy.
We expect that our customers have common sense and understand that when
a provider offers anything "free", they are overcharging in other areas.
Anytime, you hear free software or free computers, look closely into the
fine print and try to understand ALL of your fees.
We are the best and the first to do everything.
It is always a good idea to separate marketing hype from reality when
possible. Really, how can every company suggest that they invented
everything and they are the best at it? While the iFitness approach
is unique in this industry, we certainly didn't invent the Internet as
some companies would like you to believe.
My consultant says "x" software or billing company is the best.
Kickbacks, kickback, kickbacks. The secret in our industry is that most of the "consultants"
in this industry are on the payrolls of software and billing companies.
Anytime a consultant only preaches the virtues of one company - look
out. You may want to ask how much of the fee you pay for software and
billing services is going to the consultant that you are already paying.
Billing is too complicated for you to do In-House.
Not really. When making the decision on whether to use an outside
vendor, the question is not whether you "can" do it yourself, but rather
"should" you do it yourself? Most of the time, a club is much better
served to focus directly on servicing its customer and not getting trapped in administrative
tasks.
Software should do everything for me and only cost $199 one time.
Quality business owners are focused on value. Software and billing services cost
money to provide and if done well, are worth the costs. The real question is -
does the provider help make your business more profitable? If so, then we believe
the costs are justified.
